Our Story
Real Opportunity. Real Impact.
Developed Employment Services was founded by Humboldt entrepreneur Kyle Visser. In 2009, Kyle established Shred Aware, a local document and information destruction company. Within six months of opening, he began hiring employees with developmental disabilities, he was quickly inspired by their work ethic and abilities when the work was an appropriate fit for them individually.
That experience became the vision for Developed Employment Services. Today, we partner with local businesses and residents to employ an often-overlooked population of incredibly capable adults. Participants gain independence, reduce their reliance on tax dollars, and rank among Humboldt County’s finest employees, each supported by a job coach who guides them through the workday.

What We Believe
