Our Program
Person-centered vocational training and supported employment that helps adults with developmental disabilities build real skills, gain confidence, and reach lasting independence.
Opportunity, Training, and Real Work
Developed Employment Services provides the training, resources, and support adults with developmental disabilities need to find and keep meaningful employment. We do this through hands-on vocational training, real work experience with local businesses and residents, and dedicated coaching that builds the skills employers value.
We serve an often-overlooked population of capable adults who are ready to work, and we connect their talent with the needs of our community.
Built Around Each Individual
Our program is person-centered, which means the work is tailored to each participant. Every person receives daily, direct support and feedback from their job coach. We continually assess each participant’s strengths, motivations, challenges, and interests to determine the right training and the right job placement.
Along the way, we help each participant build the self-advocacy, accountability, and independence that lasting employment requires.
Outcomes That Matter
Employment changes more than a person’s income. It builds the confidence, routine, and sense of belonging that shape a fuller life. For the participants we serve, and for the community around them, the impact reaches well beyond the job itself. Here is what that looks like in practice.
Confidence
Participants build the work habits, self-assurance, and daily routines that help them succeed on the job and beyond.
Independence
The goal is always lasting, independent employment, greater self-reliance, and reduced dependence on public assistance.
Community Impact
Every placement raises awareness of the economic and social value of employing adults with developmental disabilities.

Who is eligible for Developed Employment Services?
Our program serves adults (18 and older) with a developmental disability who are ready to build job skills and work toward independence. How does someone enroll in the program?
Enrollment begins with a referral. Contact your service coordinator at the Redwood Coast Regional Center and ask about Developed Employment Services. Once referred, we meet with you to understand your strengths, interests, and goals, then build an individual plan together.
How much does the program cost for participants and families?
Services are funded through the Redwood Coast Regional Center for eligible individuals, so there is typically no direct cost to participants or their families. Your service coordinator can explain funding and eligibility for your specific situation.
What kind of jobs do participants do?
Participants work in a range of fields based on their interests and strengths, including landscaping, janitorial and cleaning, warehouse and industrial work, office and administrative tasks, courier work, and more. Some participants also pursue starting their own small business with our support.
